Turisimo Fermentations Releasing Hoch Orchard Hard Cider “Colorado Blue Spruce Cider"

La Crosse, WI (December 2020) – Turisimo Fermentations and Hoch Orchard Hard Cider have collaborated on a new Hard Cider (very limited), Colorado Blue Spruce Cider.  Jackie Hoch owner of Hoch Orchard Hard Cider reflects on the process:

“Our Organic orchards are bordered with Colorado Blue Spruce trees.  In the spring, we hand harvest the young tender spruce shoot tips.  We later ferment them with cider and blend the tea into a late season blend of our dry cider.  This leaves it tart with some underlying citrus tones, a light spruce nose and bright finish. It will give you a nice aroma and taste reminiscent of gin. A perfect blend of fall, winter and spring flavors!”- Jackie Hoch, Hoch Orchard Hard Cider.

The Colorado Blue Spruce Cider will be available in stores in La Crosse County and around Western Wisconsin and is available on tap now at the Pearl Street Brewery Tasting Room. It will also be available in La Crescent, Winona, and southeastern Minnesota. Bars and Restaurants interested in putting Hoch Hard Ciders on tap or selling it in cans can contact Hoch Orchard Hard Cider or Turisimo Fermentations. Other collaborations for the two local companies include Minnesota Brut, Purple Reign, and Cidre Nouveau (in stores now), Cool Haralson, and Honey Honey (coming soon).

Hoch Orchard is a family farm in Nodine, Minnesota run by Harry & Jackie Hoch and has been in the Hoch family since the early 1950s. All of the fruit grown on their farm is certified organic. They cultivate over fifty apple varieties plus acres of wine grapes, various berries, fruit trees & livestock. Harry has a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Pest Management and a Master’s degree in Technical Communications and Sustainable Agriculture.
